The Resort
The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe was incredible. The resort was all open air, beautifully decorated, contained enough activities and places to go, and was beautiful inside and out. The exterior contained two very large pools spanning across the main back of the hotel. The beach was right past the sand and easily accessible. We swam a ton and walked a ton and overall had a very enjoyable time. I can't compare it to much since this was my first time visiting the Caribbean, but I would highly highly recommend it to anyone looking to take a trip. Even the rooms were eco-friendly. What more could you want? The Wedding Like mentioned previously, the wedding was dream worthy. The shore of the beach was isolated enough to feel secluded. The reception boat was lively and exciting. The hosts also helped bring a big comfort and fun to the party. Overall it was a beautiful location for a destination wedding. I would recommend it to anyone if you're looking for a beautiful beach. The Food Although the food hit some of us a little too hard (a few had food poisoning), the taste and selection was great. I kid you not I ate feta everyday because it was the best feta I have ever tasted in my life. I know a discomfort comes with food form out of country due to the difference in techniques so the sicknesses were expected. Although it would have been a much better trip without the aftermath.. The Company I can honestly say that although I was a complete stranger to the wedding party, I can't imaging having a better time as a plus 1. I warmed up right away and it also helped that I had my best friend right besides me the entire time (it was her family). Overall we all found enough to talk about. And it was a really enjoyable group to be around. The Overall Although the wifi system blew (I could only hack on at 2am bc I knew the password. Only the bride and one other had access at all times), I somehow made it through the week. My pictures were incredible, the experience also incredible. It was a very fun and enjoyable wedding and vacation. One I was ready to leave, but sad to go. I would love to go again in the near future with either family or friends. It was the trip to remember.

Today was a "lets take the cutest pictures possible" kind of day. It started with a cute yellow outfit, some beach pics with horrible coconut drinks, and then a trip to the casino. Although again with the food.. I should have just fasted all week. The casino was nightmare but it was a cool scene before I had to run. Tried my first White Russian. Tried my first of a lot of things on this trip.. Sorry mom and dad.. Technically it was legal? Oh and our loverboys caught us walking back to our room and jumped off the train to run to us.. I think that was the best i've ever ran away from someone in heels.
We were all a little rough this morning given yesterday's festivities. But besides lounging in the pool all day, we were also able to enjoy some coffee from the coffee rum bar. We skipped the rum on this night to much surprise, but honestly I think the coffee was incredible as is. I'd go back to the Dominican just for it!
I really wish I had more to say about today but the all exclusive legal alcohol age got to me a little too much.. But from what I can remember, it was the most beautiful day. We started at the bride's sweet for some room service and mimosas. After spending all day getting ready we took a bus from the resort to docking area outside the complex. From there we took a boat onto another boat where we there enjoyed the view as we headed to a corner of the beach for the wedding. And to reiterate, IT. WAS. BEAUTIFUL. I am not one for a beach wedding but the set up and location and happy couple made it all picture perfect. And of course after the wedding comes the reception.. That's the fun part. The dinner & reception was held on the boat and although a tight squeeze it was perfect. We drank one too many cocktail hour drinks, some amazing island honey rum thanks to our boat caption (he took shots with us.. cool dude), and eventually enough to no longer remember.. Overall, from what I can remember, it was a perfect and beautiful night.
After another day at the beach/pool we ended the night with a cocktail party. We had some amazing appetizers, lots of daiquiris & coladas, some Santa Fe steak, and then made a stop at the rum coffee & cigar bar for you-know-what. Besides our food hitting us a little too hard, it was a good day.
It's exactly what I looks like. We had some fun in the sun on our first official day. The morning started with mimosas, a little too many pina coladas, and some food that we all would eventually regret.. They told us not to drink the water from the get-go but no one warned us that the food was a stomachache waiting to happen. Worth it tho.. I mean check that plate pic like wow. Oh and we also got a Bubba keg as a wedding gift.. which didn't help with the amount of pina coladas we were drinking.. We also checked out the minor's club thanks to Rae's brother.. Got the attention of way too many trashed underaged boys.. That was fun
DAY ONE IN THE SUN DO YOU EVEN SEE THE BEAUTY!!First day out of the country and it's safe to say that I'm never coming back!! Day 1 technically started the night before when we spent the night at a hotel near the airport. Not gonna lie, those are some nice rooms!! Then lucky us 4am came around and it was off to the airport. After the typical disaster stress mess that comes with airports and 7 hour flights, we actually made it. And let me just say, IT WAS WORTH IT.
